The mud and the blood and the mire

The Democrats’ attempt to block Judge Kananaugh are the very image of who they are.  Use the politics of personal destruction to wreck the opposition.  Not on the basis of policy, no, for on the facts and figures of policy they haven’t got a leg to stand on.  Nor on the basis of the qualifications of the person in question, unless it is one of their own, and then the qualification is that he, she or it be a solid mind melded duck speaker.  All they have is hatred for everything that is not them or theirs.  They accuse everyone who accuses them of hate, an act of pure projection, for it is they who are driven by hate.

In an unprecedented act Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh defended himself against the accusations of the Demoncrats.  His letter to the Judiciary committee is clear, forceful and telling.  You can read it by clicking on the images, they will open in larger format.  Two things I especially like about this letter.  First, he spells out the problem, “These are smears, pure and simple … grotesque and obvious character assassination.”  Second he is a fighter, not a quitter.  “I will not be intimidated into withdrawing from this process.  The coordinated effort to destroy my good name will not drive me out.  The vile threats of violence against my family will not drive me out.  The last minute character assassination will not succeed.”  My kind of guy.

There is no question that the Commiecrats have a series of similarly flimsy allegations set to be doled out, on after another, to delay the confirmation process until the hoped for blue wave will sweep Republicans from control of the House and Senate.  Then, they think, the shoe will be on the other foot and they can begin the endless Soviet style show trials that will leave them standing unchallenged and unchallengeable amidst the wreckage of our glorious Republic.  The fall of the Twin Towers would be as nothing in comparison.

As with every election in the last twenty years, each either draws us closer to the brink of destruction or draws us away, each a struggle more desperate than the last, each with consequences more dire.  It has become a cliche to say “this is the most important election of our lifetimes,” but it is true.  Unless we succeed the forces of darkness that lust for the extermination of America and all we hold dear and all we hope for will succeed.

That is why I am so pleased that we will be able to meet the Republican candidate for Congress for the 28th district, Johnny Nalbandian this Friday.  Of the Republic is to survive we must oust Adam Schiff.
