Bannon on Trump with Charlie Rose

I had not had occasion to think much about Steve Bannon before now, but given that he left the Trump Administration recently to return to Breitbart it seemed worthwhile to get a deeper insight into the man.  The recent interview with Charlie Rose, parts of which were shown on 60 Minutes provided a good opportunity.  Yes, yes, I know that Rose is a paid propagandist, and he does get irritatingly condescending and contentious at times he does let Bannon speak for himself most of the time.

I come away very favorably impressed by Bannon, and even more favorably impressed by what Bannon says of Trump. Bannon gets one thing absolutely right, and he says it over and over with different words in the interview: the real power comes from We the People.  And he trusts the People to exercise it wisely.  I post the videos below for your delectation.

Did Trump betray us?

Maybe not, according to Scott Adams.  Bear in mind that Mr. Adams is an early Trump supporter who has been very impressed by Trump’s powers of persuasion, persuasion being a topic of particular interest to him.

By the way, don’t forget to come to the meeting tonight at the La Canada Flintridge Community Center, the show kicks off at 6.30 pm.  It is immediately South of Foothill on Chevy Chase on the West side of the street.

Visual Persuasion: President Trump describes border security (a concept) with the word “wall” because you can visualize it. Our visual sense is our most persuasive path for influence. It would be weak persuasion to talk about border security as a concept without a visual.

Simplicity: Border security is a big topic, and the method you use to secure it will depend on the terrain and other factors. If President Trump mentioned all of that complexity each time he talked about border security it would be a big yawn. Simple messages such as “build a wall” always beat complicated (but accurate) conceptual arguments.

Strategic Ambiguity: In hypnosis class we learned to omit any details the subject might find objectionable. Following good form, President Trump doesn’t get too specific about the type of wall he wants. He lets us see the wall that makes the most sense to us.

We see the same strategic ambiguity after his famous dinner “agreement” with Pelosi and Schumer. The Democratic leaders got to announce “no wall” while the President says “yes wall.” The reality is that both sides agree on spending for border improvements, some of which will undoubtedly be wall-ish sometime in the next few years. We citizens get to pick which version of reality we like best: wall or no wall. The ambiguity supports both views. And it is intentional.

Big First Demand: A good negotiator starts with an aggressive first demand so there is plenty of room to negotiate toward the middle. President Trump started his campaign promising to deport every undocumented immigrant. That first demand was so extreme that he has plenty of room to negotiate toward a reasonable center, such as allowing DACA folks to stay.

Likewise, the “Wall” idea is seen by many Trump critics and supporters alike to mean a solid wall for the entire border with Mexico. This was never a practical idea, and candidate Trump said so directly at least once, but he wisely didn’t emphasize the full range of solutions for the border. Now it will seem totally reasonable to build a solid wall wherever border security is most problematic, so long as it is not extended to the entire border.

Thinking Past the Sale: In this case, the “sale” is President Trump’s desire to tighten border security. Now both sides assume the border will be tightened and they are only debating the budget and the details. This is classic persuasion. The President never allowed the country to spend time debating whether or not we wanted better border control. Instead, he made us focus on how to do it. He made the sale before the country thought it had anything to buy.

Trading Imaginary Assets for Real Ones: If we believe initial reports from Pelosi, Schumer, and Trump, there will be some sort of deal for greater border security in exchange for allowing DACA folks to stay in the country. But realistically, the DACA folks couldn’t have been rounded up and deported without a civil war. So President Trump traded an imaginary asset (the idea of deporting the DACA folks) for something potentially real in terms of greater border security funding.

Pacing and Leading: Pacing refers to matching your subject in some way, either physically, verbally, or in terms of philosophy. Candidate Trump paced (matched) his base on immigration until he got elected. Now the base trusts that he is philosophically aligned with them. So if he finds he can’t do all the things they demand, they are likely to let him lead to whatever is practical and doable simply because they trust him on the topic. People don’t expect a politician to be magic, or to do the impossible. But they do want politicians to “get” them and to care about them and to fight for what they want. President Trump paced his supporters by understanding their needs and fighting for them. That group is likely to trust him when he says some form of “This is the best we can do for now.”

High Ground Maneuver: The high ground maneuver involves taking an argument out of the weeds and up to a level where everyone agrees. In this case, the weeds include a discussion of how best to handle DACA folks. President Trump tweeted that some are military veterans. The military is the high ground in the U.S., and any reference to them is likely to be a high ground play. In other words, President Trump is committing to keeping the DACA folks in this country. He just doesn’t want to say it until he gets his budget for border security.

Likewise, at some point soon President Trump will pivot from “the wall everywhere” to “effective border control.” Effective border control, and the job improvement for Americans that might come with it, are the high ground. The details of how to do it are the weeds.

He has a link there to a video where he goes into more detail.

Errata corrigi

It has been brought to my attention that the flyer for the September 2017 dinner talk is missing the actual date of the event.  This is my mistake, and it is a little late to correct the flyer now so I’m putting up this post to correct that error and clarify a couple of things.

  1.  The date of the event is Friday, September 15, 2017.  That’s this Friday.
  2. The time of the event is 6.30 PM.  That is, we get the show on the road at 6.30 in the evening. of September 15, 2017.  We hope to have it wrapped up by 9.00 PM, the evening of the same day.
  3. The Republican Club of the Foothills is hosting the event, therefore please RSVP to the Republican Club of the Foothills, NOT to the La Canada Flintridge Community Center.  The Community Center is the location.  Your host is the Republican Club, if you want to come, let us know.
  4. The phone number on the flyer is not working, I don’t know why.  Just hit “REPLY” to this email and let us now your intentions.  I send all the “I’m coming” replies to the planning committee and they take it from there.

See you Friday, September 15, 2017 at 6.30 PM at the La Canada Flintridge Community Center located at  4469 Chevy Chase Drive, La Canada, CA 91011

16 years

Your humble correspondent admits to having been a Democrat for most of my life.  I blame this on JFK’s charisma and Jackie’s loveliness.  Going on 10 years old I vividly remember seeing them (and shaking Jackie’s hand!) at the ambassador’s reception during the 1962 visit to Mexico.  To my young mind he seemed like a god,, radiating some kind of power, and she a demure and graceful beauty; I was captivated.  that captivity was sealed by his brutal death 18 months later.

I remained a captive until the 9/11 attack.

My political awakening began on that terrible morning, as it did for millions of Americans.  I knew what had happened, but it was in investigating the why of it, and the subsequent fallout, that my eyes began to open.  The more I found out the greater the horror, the greater the rage.  America had been made blind and stupid and helpless not by the good intentions of the feckless but by the malice of the corrupt. It was, and remains, one hell of a wake up call.

I formally left the Democratic Party during the run up to the 2004 election.  Two things pushed me over the edge.  The more proximate cause was Barbara Boxer’s re-election campaign.  The one thing, the ONLY thing I saw over and over was she promised to preserve a woman’s right to abortion .  I despise abortion, so that was bad enough, but she didn’t have anything else, just that.  As much as Boxer disgusted me, the other reason was even more infuriating.

For a few brief weeks after 9/11 America unified in the face of the attack and the ongoing threat.  Almost as tragically as the attack itself, that unity did not last.  Shortly after the invasion of Iraq, which the Democrats had supported, the turned against the war en masse, in perfect lock-step.  This was a replay of the 1974 Democratic Congress which refused to honor American treaty obligations to the Republic of South Vietnam by refusing to allocate the funds that would allow them to defeat the North’s aggression.  The horrific consequences of that 1974 betrayal were plain, as would be the consequences of the 2003 betrayal.

It was clear to me that the Democratic Party was the party of treason.  It still is.

With a view to understanding the roots of that, and exploring practical remedies the Republican Club of the Foothills is pleased to invite you to attend:

So what the heck is going on???

We’re moving again, dammit. St. Bede’s is not going to renew our contract. Turns out that the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has a policy that forbids making Catholic facilities available for use by political groups. Nobody at St. Bede’s knew about this as it had never been an issue before. So why is it an issue now?

You may recall that some months ago some left wing nut jobs were making an attempt to get us kicked out of St. Bede’s. Although the Pastor of St. Bede’s held firm the nut jobs have continued their attacks in subsequent months which brought our situation to the attention of the Archdiocese. What is to be done?

First thing, of course, is to set up someplace else and carry on, which we are doing. Probably a good idea to complain to the Pastor at St. Bede’s about being kicked out, while recognizing that he is not the final arbiter of that decision. By all means complain to the Archiocese about undermining organizations that are mostly in alignment with Catholic social teaching (abortion, marriage, etc.).

There are numerous Democratic Clubs in Los Angeles County some of which may be meeting in Catholic venues. Here is a list of many of those clubs. Your humble correspondent doesn’t have time to research whether any of them are using Catholic facilities in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, but if any of our membership have time on their hands they might form an ad hoc committee to find out with a view to returning the favor and have the rules applied evenly.

More can be done, and I hope to have more specific suggestions for you soon. It would be a fault against justice to allow what has been done to us to go unanswered. We are at war, a war we neither wanted nor, for many of us, even knew we were in. But we know now if we didn’t before. We have two options: fight or surrender.

Never surrender. I’ll see you in the winners circle on September 15th.

Charlottesville – Update from a local resident

UPDATE:

Stilton’s Place has an extensive comment from a reader who is a politically aware Charlotteville resident.  His observations are pertinent and very useful for understanding these events.  I post it in its entirety.

JRMD from Virginia said…Stilt,
From the heavy heart of Central VA I can tell you why it happened.
The Charlottesville ‘Clown’ Council is 100% far left to the point they can’t stand straight.
The black ‘vice’ mayor (Bellamy) came to C’ville as a teacher, member of the gov’s. education board and a council electee. His baggage included uncovered racist tweets (especially against white women) and on-line posts. When these were brought to light he left his teaching position (rather than be fired) and resigned from the governor’s edu. bd.
HOWEVER, since he was so pro black and anti white, the clown council and the idiots in C’ville not only left him on council but made him vice mayor…. paving the way for his future political aspirations. (Heaven help the fools!) (Over 80% of them voted for Hillary, so you know they have problems.)
C’ville formed a commission to study the Lee and Jackson statues after one of Bellamy’s students said they scared her when she went through the parks. An obvious set-up to everyone but the C’ville croud.
The commission, after months of study and public meetings, advised the council to leave the statues in place and add plaques to explain that part of history.
The council rejected the commissions findings and voted to remove the statues.
Thus – the KKK and Alt Right rallies.
The KKK came, spoke briefly and left. They were attacked by anti-protesters. 28 of them were arrested for violence….. not 1 KKK member.
The lefties and the clown council supported the claim of police brutality because tear gas had to be used to quell the protesters attacks on the KKK AND the police. They objected to the arrests and said the police should have been more patient and that they antagonized the protesters by wearing their riot gear. Interestingly – NONE of the 28 have been to court to face their charges..?? Swept under the rug????
Kessler (Alt-Right Movement) applied for a permit to protest the statue removals. The application was for Lee Park at the base of the Lee statue. Certainly not off-limits as that was where most of the anti-statue rallies were held by the lefties.
The clown council sat on the permit until the last minute and approved it – if held in McIntire Park, on the outskirts of town.
Surprisingly the ACLU and Rutherford Institute jumped in to file a suit based on the violation of free speech.
A Federal Judge held a night hearing and blocked the order to relocate.
That had to P O the clown council.!!!!
As both rally participants and anti-rally protesters formed early Sat. AM, skirmishes broke out due to the protesters throwing frozen water bottles, soda cans filled with concrete, bottles of excrement, etc. at rally members in the park and attacking those trying to get to the park.
Hundreds of police and national guard stood by and did nothing to stop the abuse.
It quickly became obvious that they were not only remembering the flak the took for stopping the KKK rally violence but also had the intent, most likely directed by the clown council, to let it happen until it could be declared an ‘unlawful gathering’ and shut it down. So much for ‘Serve and Protect’.
The rally was shut down shortly after after 11AM – an hour before it was scheduled to start. A couple protesters were arrested.
The Alt-Rt supporters left the park and the anti-rally protesters pranced around the ‘once-upon-a-time’ grand city of Charlottesville, VA proclaiming a victory.
The lack of quick and decisive action by the police to quell the violence perpetrated by the protesters was the cause of all the problems and will result in future problems as the ‘white supremacist’ groups have vowed to return – ready to take care of themselves.
Charlottesville’s actions (and INActions) has stirred up a hornets nest.

This account is as factual as it can get. I watched it happen.

The horrific events at Charlotteville this weekend are to be decried in the strongest terms.  Political violence from whatever source is to be condemned.  President Trump did so shortly after the event, but you would never know it watching the mainstream organs of propaganda.  They are again trying to get him to dance to their tune, and this he has refused to do.  Oh, the humanity!

So what happened?  A number of white nationalist groups got a permit to hold a peaceful demonstration which they called Unite the Right.  That permit was revoked.  Then it was reinstated by a Federal judge.  Then when the Anti-fas counter-protesters showed up the police broke up the Unite the Right and told them they had to go home.  It was only after Unite the Right had dispersed that car attack occurred.

Here’s the testimony of an eye witness.  She  also has video clips over here.

Let me say at the outset that anybody who marches around carrying Nazi flags is not going to favorably influence my opinion.  Whereas I think it is necessary for the various right leaning organizations to band together around their common interest, these outre lunatics aren’t helping the cause.  That being said, the worst offender here were the Anit-fas protesters as they were the originators of the violence which was exhibited during the whole day prior to the auto attack.

Several issues here.  It looks like the 1st Amendment is going down the drain.  It is not clear to me why a group of citizens has to get a permit to peaceably assemble still less why it should be revoked because the City fathers didn’t like the groups who were to assemble.

Secondly, where do the City fathers get off curtailing anyone’s speech, however unpleasant.  The 1st Amendment does not exist so that we can say “Have a nice day” to one another.  It exists to protect speech which we find objectionable.  Repudiation of violence is all very well, however one would do well to recall that the 1st Amendment protects your lips, not your teeth, should your speech prove unbearably inflammatory to one’s listeners.  The organizer of the event, Richard Spencer, was punched several times while giving interviews just prior to the event, and had to be taken from the scene to tend his injuries.  When the police ordered the Unite the Right people to disperse, rather than direct them away from the Anti-fas crowd, they directed them through the Anti-fas crowd, and a number of scuffles broke out, about which the police did nothing.

I understand that Unite the Right is taking legal action against the City of Charlottesville for violating their 1st Amendment rights. This is especially apropos as the Charlottesville police did not do their job and protect the safety of the Unite the Right people, but forced the two groups to come together with altogether predictable results. Interestingly, the police counselled the Unite the Right people to refrain from violence on pain of arrest, but said nothing to the Anti-fas crowd.

The Left till now has been in the ascendant.  They thought that they had America sewed up.  But just as Hillary was a shoo-in for President they are shocked, shocked to discover that they aren’t having it all their way.  There are actually a lot of people who, for whatever reason, don’t subscribe to their dark, sad and failing religion.  That opposition is sometimes based on erroneous principles (that is, that don’t look to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for their inspiration and guidance), but it is real opposition none the less.

The Donks have lost the initiative despite having massive funding sources, control of most of the institutions and a long term, deep and well organized game plan.  They are fumbling around trying to get the juggernaut of historical inevitability rolling again and they are making a total hash of it.  Their opposition continues to grow despite lacking all the Progressive advantages.

All this violence is because they are losing.  Commies are always sore losers.  They are worse when they win.  They aren’t winning this one.

Days of desperation and glory

Below is a video of an interview of Olavo de Carvalho by Stephan Molynewux.  De Carvalho is probably the premier anti Communist activist in Latin America and was instrumental in laying the philosophical, social and political groundwork which led to the recent impeachment of Dilma Rouseff, the Socialist President of Brazil.  He is also a journalist and a philosopher of distinction.  Go ahead and watch the video, bearing in mind that de Carvalho has a heavy Brazilian accent.

Just wow, so clarifying.  Hang on, I’m going to watch it for the 3rd time, be right back.

Now I feel like I have to go out and buy a bigger hat.  Stand by for Mind Expansion!

Andrew Breitbart was right, the real battleground is the culture.  Unfortunately many Republicans and Conservatives have disdained the culture wars as peripheral; the real issues, we were told were economic.  Economics matter for sure, but economics is not the key.  Sure, the Donks focus on economics as a way to use public funds to undermine the American culture and the American interest, and as a way to enrich themselves.  But peculation is a perk, not the whole program.  The program, as always, is power and control.  After all, once you have seized power and have total control the money will follow.

So the bad old Sovs moved from trying to control the economy to controlling people’s minds.  That is the long and the short of what PC, Political Correctness, is all about.  It is a whole system of social pressures designed to get people to first say, then think and finally believe certain things.  The fact that those things are entirely nonsensical is a feature, not a bug.  The point is for you, Comrade Citizen, to yield your mind to the State, in order that you be controlled by the State.

To achieve this blind trust in the State society’s trust in and loyalty to anything and everything else must be destroyed, starting with religion and the family and on through community and the existing social and governing institutions.  Once these networks of trust and loyalty have been destroyed the individual is forced to be dependent on the State alone for survival.  Relations between persons remain, but they are based on their utility as agents of the State providing goods and services, never on mutual respect, affection, loyalty, trust or love.  It’s power and control all the way down, the very antithesis of the Gospel upon which Western, and American, Civilization is built.

But humans are built for love and can’t function without it, so an object of love is provided: Dear Leader, the living icon of the State.  In the hierarchy of power and control the most ruthless, narcissistic psychopaths rise to the top, supported by tiers of lesser but aspiring psychopaths waiting for their chance.  Those who fall under the influence of these psychopaths become mindless hysterics, frenetically repeating the sacred slogans and frantically advancing the State’s agenda as articulated by Dear Leader.  In our own times Democratic politicians supported by Progressive billionaires fund and incite the lowest levels of society to madness and violence; witness Black Lives Matter and the Social Justice Warriors on any college campus.

Marxism is a religion without a divine or supernatural dimension.  In contrast to Christianity, it focusses man’s attention on the satisfaction of his base instincts.  By promising to provide for man’s carnal nature Marxist doctrine controls the mind and will of the individual in the same way the drug controls an addict.  That is why Marxism is just as relentless in its efforts to destroy the Christian religion as the adherents of Islam, both are violent, expansionist and totalistic.

For over 80 years the Marxist Left has waged war against America and the West.  It took over twenty years for America to realize what Communism International was doing in the world and intended to do to us.  When the Cold War finally started they had deeply penetrated all aspects of our nation and culture, by the time we fixed bayonets they were already deep in our vitals.  They have sickened our society to the point that they believe they cannot lose.  But they are wrong, it is probable that we have reached “peak Leftism”, to coin a phrase, and they have failed to take us down.

Oh, they are still trying, and will still make some gains in some places and continue to wreak destruction on everything they touch.  But they’ve lost momentum and America is waking from its long sleep.  As I look over the cultural landscape people are alive as they have not been in many, many years.  Here’s the bottom line: we win, they lose.

These are days of desperation and glory. The Left must be opposed in everything.  Every agenda, every policy they propose, every candidate they sponsor, every “good idea” they advance no matter how noble it seems, is pure poison.  Everything must be opposed.  In a great many cases the opposition will not be that vigorous, we don’t have the resources time or people to stonewall everything.  Tag team them, object, complain, argue, snipe at everything even as you take to the trenches on what you consider vital.  Surrender nowhere and give them no peace anywhere.  What?  Yes!  This is war and turnabout is fair play (no, it will not make you what they are, but if you don’t they will make you dead – not a victory for America, that).  Dump the Marquess of Queensbury rules, it is time for the (metaphorical) knife.  Let ’em have it!

Now pick your target and, with God’s help, let’s be about it.

Chicago

Hog Butcher for the World,
   Tool Maker, Stacker of Wheat,
   Player with Railroads and the Nation’s Freight Handler;
   Stormy, husky, brawling,
   City of the Big Shoulders:
They tell me you are wicked and I believe them, for I have seen your painted women under the gas lamps luring the farm boys.
And they tell me you are crooked and I answer: Yes, it is true I have seen the gunman kill and go free to kill again.
And they tell me you are brutal and my reply is: On the faces of women and children I have seen the marks of wanton hunger.
And having answered so I turn once more to those who sneer at this my city, and I give them back the sneer and say to them:
Come and show me another city with lifted head singing so proud to be alive and coarse and strong and cunning.
Flinging magnetic curses amid the toil of piling job on job, here is a tall bold slugger set vivid against the little soft cities;
Fierce as a dog with tongue lapping for action, cunning as a savage pitted against the wilderness,
   Bareheaded,
   Shoveling,
   Wrecking,
   Planning,
   Building, breaking, rebuilding,
Under the smoke, dust all over his mouth, laughing with white teeth,
Under the terrible burden of destiny laughing as a young man laughs,
Laughing even as an ignorant fighter laughs who has never lost a battle,
Bragging and laughing that under his wrist is the pulse, and under his ribs the heart of the people,
                   Laughing!
Laughing the stormy, husky, brawling laughter of Youth, half-naked, sweating, proud to be Hog Butcher, Tool Maker, Stacker of Wheat, Player with Railroads and Freight Handler to the Nation.

Dance with the devil

Ace of Spades picks up on and condenses Thomas Wicktor’s tweet storm on the damage done by the Obama administration.

(1) Boy oh boy. Remember we said that after Obama left office, we’d find out the damage he did?
It’s much worse than I imagined. pic.twitter.com/SohcTj9HcC

(2) Under Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, the Department of Justice pushed the states to pass new laws.

(3) The goal was to make it impossible to hold repeat offenders in jail before trial. Why?

(4) Because so many repeat offenders are black.

(5) The first step was to reclassify violent felonies as nonviolent misdemeanors. Look at California.

(6) Assault with a deadly weapon, harming a crime victim or witness, resisting arrest that injures a police officer…

(7) Violent elder or child abuse, arson with injury, and manslaughter are now nonviolent felonies.

(8 ) Proposition 47–passed in 2014–reclassified certain “nonviolent felonies” as misdemeanors.

(9) Therefore prisoners convicted of violent elder abuse were released because now their former violent felony was a misdemeanor.

(10) So the Democrats first changed violent felonies to misdemeanors. Then they changed the laws for bail.

(11) Washington DC Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier resigned because criminals were being arrested, released, and arrested again the same day.

(12) Outgoing police chief decries District’s ‘broken’ criminal justice system

(13) Federal authorities decide who stays in jail in DC. Under pressure from Holder and Lynch, they were releasing everyone.

(14) The crime rate spiked dramatically. The Democrats are pushing for “community rehabilitation programs” instead of prison.

(15) The most repulsive member of congress–@tedlieu, the guy who trolls Trump–has introduced a doozy of a bill.

(16) Lieu wants to ELIMINATE bail in the entire country.

(17) They point to the “success” of New Jersey, which eliminated bail earlier this year.

(18 ) In New Jersey, a person is evaluated with an eight-question form. Prior offenses are not taken into consideration.

(19) As a result almost nobody is held over until trial. Almost everyone is released.

(20) The state had to hire new staff and create new computer systems to manage the new system.

(21) Releasing everybody has so far cost New Jersey $400 million, and the crime rate is skyrocketing.

(22) Washington DC eliminated bail, and now the city pays $50 million a year to oversee almost no prisoners.

(23) Duane and Beth Chapman–He’s better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter–testified in Sacramento about the new laws coming.

(24) The Chapmans pointed out every loophole they could: a guy who never shows up for trial, for example.

(25) They said that the Democrats then TWEAKED the laws to EXCLUDE any possible offender.

(26) The DC Police arrested a total of 219 violent protestors on Inauguration Day. Only 17 showed up for their trials.

(27) The Chapmans said that the Democratic party has made it a priority in 2017 to pass laws that make holding anyone in jail impossible.

(28 ) What I realized a long time ago is that Democrats’ sole motivation is to piss off conservatives.

(29) So I’m not surprised that one of our two major parties now wants us to die at the hands of violent criminals.

(30) The end result of Democratic “reform” is that criminals now commit crimes with impunity, and people are too afraid to call the cops.

(31) There are no penalties for threatening witnesses and skipping your trial. Nobody comes looking for you.

(32) And if you get arrested, they immediately release you.

(33) You may have heard that more an more celebrities are having their mansions broken into.

(35) This is a new crime, being committed by old gangs such and the Bloods and Crips. It’s because there are no penalties.

(36) This is just one of the things Obama did to us. And the CURRENT Democrats want to make it even worse. The end.

One of Wictor’s followers replied:

Horrified yet?  I certainly am.  Obama, the smartest moron in the world, you would think, should have been able to figure out the consequences of such insane regulations and prevented it going forward.  Just another case of liberal do gooders gone wrong.  “Oops!  Sorry, who could have seen that coming?  But our intentions were good.”

Really?

No, I don’t think so.

The consequences of these decisions have been carefully calculated to achieve an effect quite other than the one stated.  It was never intended to rectify “institutional racism,” that was just the cover story, the whitewash, the pretext.  So what could have been the purpose?  What the desired effect?

Certainly it has made America a significantly less safe place.  We have seen crime stats spike after a decades long decline.  The general public is not yet aware of this because, surprise, surprise, the media is still chasing Russians rather than informing the public, it is still obscured by a propaganda smoke screen.  There has not yet been enough time for a sufficient number of victims to accumulate and their stories to begin to circulate by word of mouth.  As these kinds of crimes, despite a few high profile cases, tend to take place in neighborhoods  with lower economic demographics and higher ethnic concentrations word of mouth circulation is restricted.  Nobody in Beverly HIlls has a clue to what is happening in Watts or the barrios of East LA.

This will have the effect of weakening social cohesion, increasing the levels of savagery of criminals, more demands by the public for police protection, escalating the levels of force by law officers responding to theses crimes, inflaming communities’ outrage at police brutality and reducing even further respect for the law and law enforcement resulting in even more flagrantly criminal violence.  An all around cycle that must inevitably lead to social collapse.  But that is not the end game.

Once things get really bad there will be a general outcry for government to do something, anything, to put a stop to it.  Once the  population can be brought to accept a program that brutally suppresses criminality, and criminals’ rights – and everybody else’s rights too – then the corrupt, ruthless and power hungry men who have been waiting for this carefully crafted opportunity will step forward and claim the name of hero for quelling the chaos. This is why they are so desperate to disarm the people “for their own good”.

Socialists have been doing this all over the world for over a century.  They will do it here if we let them.  Be aware, be alert and prevent them.
